A Macbook Pro was just purchased for me but I've just noticed it did not come with installation software. What should I do? If issues occur, you can restore from one or the other. Somehow I got a notice that I could update directly to Mavewricks for free from my current I have no memory of how I got the notice. About the same time I got a download for Mac Installer 1.
At first I thoght that the Mac Installer was necessary somehow beforehand for the Mavericks upgrade. There's a Orange bar at the right, but when I use that to get to the top it looks like the information gets cut off, so I'm only seeing the bottom portion of the info. I tried to follow the instructions to install it via the terminal, but it says it's already installed. This might be worth mentioning: The adapter is connected to the desktop's usb port via a desktop dock. The adapter is a usb, and the dock consists a male port for the desktop and a female port for the adapter itself. Should I be using it?
The instructions indicate that it isn't completely necessary for the adapter to work.
